 Karol Stubbs

Greetings from the 2nd grade classroom here in Winside, Nebraska.  I'd like to welcome everyone back to the new 2004-2005 school year.  My name is Karol Stubbs.  I began teaching in Winside in 1992 after receiving my degree from Wayne State College.  In 2001, I received a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College.  My husband Tim is the 4th grade teacher here in Winside also. We have two daughters. Korrine is 16 and Mallory is 9. Tim and I are originally from Webster City, Iowa.  We still have a lot of  family there, so we frequently make the trip back.  We have one cat named Jake who we think is a pretty cool cat.  He is about 13 years old.

This first semester of school, I will be joined by Patty Schmuecker, a student teacher from Wayne State College.  The 2nd graders and I are enjoying having her with us.  She will gradually be taking on more teaching responsibilities as the semester progresses.

Second graders are looking forward to hatching baby chicks and studying dinosaurs this year.  We will also be expanding our reading and writing skills.  Working towards MEMORIZING our addition and subtraction math facts 0-18 will be ongoing throughout the year.

If you are a 2nd grade parent, please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns, by sending a note with your child, contacting me by phone at school or home, or emailing me.  Please check out our web site from time to time to see what 2nd graders are up to.

The Winside Wildcat web pages are hosted at ESU 1.
